Cruise terminal at Wharf 5 Bangaroo Sydney

Hi, We will be leaving on Dawn Princess from Wharf 5 in March 2011 and as we will be flying in from Queensland, need accom for one night. Can anyone recomend somewhere resaonable and close to the cruise terminal. Also any infomation on exactly where Bangaroo or Wharf 5 is would be of great help. eg Street address.

Thanks heaps

there's an Ibis basically next door to the cruise terminal.

Medina not too far away, Sheraton 4 Points, almost anything in the city is a short cab ride.

open google maps, look up Lime St, Sydney 2000, click satellite and you can see a ship parked there. It just up the road from the Aquarium, Wildlife world etc.

look at that satellite image.

Until recently wharf 8 was the departure point for most cruises, however this has now moved further north along darling harbour to the old wharf 5.

It would be roughly 800m between the 2 which isnt much of an extra distance on its own but with bags jam packed for a cruise its a different story.

As the OP said, the Ibis is close by and probably closest but the likes of the Old Sydney Holiday Inn are close by too & you dont encounter any lights (if you know the right way) too add to a taxi fare.

There's always a plethera of "secret hotel" deals available in the lead up where you can get 5 star accom for well under $200 with a cab ride of $10-$15 to the ship.

I'd suggest that you download a map of the cbd/rocks area & pinpoint wharf 5 (nth end darling harbour, closest to harbour bridge) & then get googling.

For secret hotels try last minute or wotif.

The wharf is adjacent to Hickson Road, The Rocks. This map shows you the precise location.

DO NOT confuse the location with Pier 5 which houses the Sydney Theatre Company - the OPT is further along Hickson Rd. Basically - it is between King Street Wharf Darling Harbour and the Sydney Theatre Company.

The closest hotels are

The Observatory

Sebel Pier One

Old Sydney Inn

Shangri La

Four Seasons

Quay WEst Apartments

My view is that the Rocks accommodation is closer than anything else mentioned.

everyone of your posts to date say the same thing....all recommending a particular company for travel arrangements. Sounds like solicitation / advertising to me....
