Outback trip report

We recently did a trip around the SA Outback and Uluru. From Adelaide, 2500 km in 5 days around Flinders Ranges, Lake Eyre, Coober Pedy in a 6-wheel Land Cruiser; then fly to Uluru (Ayers Rock) for three nights.

There's a trip report with many photos at www.nickbooth.id.au/Outback11

Great photos Nick - thanks for sharing. I particularly loved the old building ruins and the colours you captured in the lake and the land.

Thanks Nick - terrific photos, particularly those of Uluru & Kata Tjuta. Next time someone asks if Uluru is worth it we should give them this link!

I aslo loved the pic of the Quorn pubs - did you try any/all of them? ;-)

If Nick agrees, I think we should add it to Sth Australian TRs and NT Trip Reports.

>>What camera have you got?<<

Lynn uses a Canon 550D or, when she does not want to carry that weight, a Canon G10. I use a Panasonic FZ35. The Panasonic is lovely: light to carry and with a terrific Leica lens with 18x zoom.

We didn't try the Quorn pubs: it was just a quick stop for a look-around as we had to get to Hawker.

By all means add it to the SA and NT TRs.

Thanks Nick

On your site you have a couple of maps ... one of them said you travelled by "bus" but in the photos is looks like a large 4 wheel drive .... was that a tour ?

"Bus" is probably the wrong term, as it was indeed a 6-wheel Land Cruiser. There were six passengers (including us) plus driver, so it was a nice small group. The tour left from Adelaide, and had overnight stops at Hawker, Marree, Coober Pedy, and Woomera.

Maybe I'll think about changing the wording on the map.

OK - I have now added your TRs to the NT and SA TR Collections.

I'm sure many people will enjoy seeing those lovely photos.

Nick, for the benefit of future readers, can you please share the name of the tour company or possibly do a review of them ?
