Sunday arrival

We arrive in Mellieha on Sunday 26th February, around the middle of the day. We have a self catering apartment and are wondering if it will be possible to buy basic food for breakfast - bread, fruit, milk... Will there be any shops open Sunday afternoon? And anywhere to eat Sunday evening?

i was in Mellieha last week, and had a good look around on sunday as it was our first day, the main supermarket (shoppers) appeared to be closed but there were plenty of small local corner shop type places open. There are two small convenience stores one in the main street Borg Oliver Street about half way down another just off the street at the top on the right hand side both, were open and had everything we needed. As for the restauarants i cant recall any being closed on any day were there, they all were open at lunch and dinner time as far as i could see. We certainly didnt have any problems finding anywhere to eat. Id recommend Ta Kanani in the main street/ Borg Oliver St it was the best value and the best food out of all that we went to.

Most shops in Mellieha will be closed, you could try the Mellieha Holiday Centre which has a shop, this could be open, but this is down on Mellieha Bay http://www.mhc.com.mt/the-resort/

Mellieha village should have a few restraunts open on a Sunday even in February, Cross Keys pub 5 Cross Square is likely to be open.

We were on Mellieha 2 weeks ago and most shops were open. We were more or less opposite Jevons and got most of our things there. All bars and restaurants were open for breakfast dinner and evening meal. Cross Keys only serves food at weekends at the moment. Try Charlies bar sign posted going up from HSBC bank to Cross Keys there are signs on the street corner to it. Great atmosphere sky sports always on and Cisk cheap. You will get a great welcome from Mike and Mary. Have a great holiday we are so jealous but are back in June.....
