Vitra and public transport

I fancy a couple of days in Weil am Rhein, and I particulary want to get to the Vitra design museum. From the small maps that I've found, it seems as though it's quite a ways out of town, and maybe not near public transport. Could anyone advise me, please?

And, did I understand right, the BW Laender Ticket is good right through to Basel?

And, what else is there to do in the area? No car, public transport only.

Thankyou.

To Basel Bad Bf and Basel SBB station.

From Weil am Rhein you can buy single tickets to TNW zones 10 (Basel city) and 40 (Rheinfelden).

www.rvl-online.de/download/RVL-TNW-10-40.pdf

Weil am Rhein is RVL zone 3.

Basel Bad Bf and Basel SBB station are RVL zone 8 and a the same time (of course) part of the TNW zone 10.

Than there is a 24 hours ticket "TriRegio mini" covering the RVL zones 1, 2, 3 + 8, TNW zones 10, 11, 13 + 40 and the french district of Trois Frontiers.

The RVL/TNW tickets cover

- regional trains (e.g. RB, RE, IRE)

- S-Bahn

- trams (in Basel)

- buses

Bus stop "Vitra" is in front of the museum. Walking distance to the town center is 10 minutes.

>what else is there to do in the area?>

Weil am Rhein itself is not exactly a sight, but it is actually a suburb of Basel, where there are a lot of sights to see.

Bus 55 direction "Claraplatz" is going to Basel's town centre.

Buses No. 12 and 16 are running to "Kleinhüningen", where you can change for trams to the town center.

As of may day there is a historic train running between Weil-Haltingen and Kandern (on sundays):

Freiburg and Colmar are also worth a trip.

For Colmar you have to change trains at Basel SBB station.
