Calanques Hike

Hi there - we are planning to visit Cassis and Calanques on Friday December 27. We are considering visiting the market and then doing a hike and getting lunch. What do you suggest as an itinerary for where to start the hike and which trails to end. We are a couple in our 30s and happy to do a 2-3 hour hike. And what is the best way to get a map and guide information?

Use the IGN option for maps of the trails.

Close to Cassis, Port Pin and En Vau are the most spectacular.

Thanks! Where do you suggest parking and starting the hike from?

Weather permiting, you'd rather have a picnic.

I don't know the parking situation during the Christmas season Provençal market but I assume it is easier than during the summer. You'd park anywhere in town and have a nice walk along the harbour , past Bestouan beach. This is what I'm used to do.

You may also try to get as close as possible to Port Miou but I'm not sure about parking possibilities in this residential aera.Staying at the presqu'île car park(toll in summer season) doesn't save time, imo.

The small ground parking lot at the end of avenue des calanques might be available.

Bear in mind that , facing south east, the narrow En Vau creek will soon be in the shade during winter afternoons.
