Cassis / South of France - end of June

We are a family of 4 (children ages 11 & 14) and want to visit South of France from 22-30 June.

We'll be flying in to Nice but don't want to stay there for more than a couple of days. We'll like to stay at one place, make it our base, rent a car & drive around. Even if the place we stay is not "on the beach", we don't mind. If it's a small town / village, we don't mind (as long as there are some good accommodation options). We want to explore the beauty of South of France.

Can you please advise what are the options.

Thanks & regards

Personally I would recommend Cassis as a base. Quaint village on coast with a quick access to the highway. A bit in the middle it puts eastern and western Provence at a reasonable driving distance especially in June : Avignon 1 &1/2 hour drive and Nice at a 2 hour drive.

Self catering options are readily available as well as reasonably priced hotels if that is what you prefer.
