quaint coastal village recommadation

We will be arriving from the states into Roma mid september. We would like to take the Train out of Roma Termini towards La Spezia and stop in one of the following towns for one night before a week stay in Cinque Terre. The train makes stops stops at Civitavecchia, Grosseto, Campiglia Maritime, Livorno, Pisa, Viareggio and Marina di Massa. We are looking for easy access to hotel, possible beach front and great food........any suggestions???

None of the places directly served by fast trains are 'quaint coastal villages' - Campiglia Marittima might fit the description of a quaint village, but it's neither right on the coast nor right by its train station.

You may need to choose a largish coastal resort like Viareggio or Forte dei Marmi, or a smaller town served by fewer trains such as Follonica.

For a quaint village, maybe get a local bus from Grosseto to Castiglione della Pescaia or from Orbetello to Porto Ercole.
