Transfers from Chianciano Terme train sta to Montepulciano

Does any one know if getting a taxi from the Chianciano terme train station to Montepulciano is quick and easy? Any idea on cost? We're wanting to stop and have lunch in Montepulciano before heading to Siena. Thank you!

There is no train station at Chianciano Terme. The station is at Chiusi.

But your idea is really not practical. It is almost 100 km from Chiusi to Siena, so the taxi fares are likely to be around €200.

I think the station is officially known as Chiusi-Chianciano and, yes, there are usually a few cabs waiting outside for much of the day but what you propose is, as Nick rightly points out, not very practical. In addition to the driving, you'd have costly waiting time for the cab too. If you really want to explore the southern Tuscan towns, you would be far better off hiring a car.

Yes, the station is called "Chiusi-Chianciano Terme", but that is just Trenitalia being optimistic. Like it is with the station called Montepulciano.
