Bideford and surrounding with a baby and a dog: things to do

Hi, we'll be arriving for a short break next week and are looking for places to visit & good eateries that are:

Dog friendly

Baby (11 months) friendly

Good for adults but also pushchair friendly

Our tastes are different but we tend to enjoy pub grub, history and browsing shops. We are happy to be recommended shortish walks (toy dog and bad back) that are suitable for pushchairs.

We'll have a car but don't really want to be driving too much once there. TiA.

In terms of dog friendly, a lot of pubs and cafes do take dogs.

If you look at www.dogfriendlybritan.co.uk that'll help. The name has gone right out of my head, but on the path down to the Cattle Market car park there's a very nice cafe (blue frontage and tables) which does good cakes. The market school has no issue with dogs. In general, if you try the tourist information at the museum is helpful. The Lynton, Lymouth cliff railway allows dogs. I'm struggling with thinking of places, but I hope this gives an idea.

The near by sculpture park is dog friendly. In honest truth virtually everywhere is dog friendly. If you have the chance, John's Deli in Appledor is brilliant for food, dog friendly,

Also try the local ice cream, there's one company that only sells from its own vans etc. Apparently, it's better with clotted cream on top.

Great Torrington...

Hi John

It's a wonderful place to go, we live only a few miles away. There is an amazing amount of things to do in North Devon, even out of season.

Feel free to check the local attractions page on our website, obviously the distances will be different for you but may give you an idea of whats going on in the area.

Hope you enjoy your stay.
