Looking for cottage/farmstay accomodations for about a week close to Newbury or Hungerford. Looking for the last week in August.

THANKS!

Hi GQH, please can you give us the number of people and your budget. The week you mention is during the peak school holiday (and price!) time in the UK and many places get booked up well in advance but the area you've chosen is not one of the top destinations so you may be lucky.

We may need two places as we are a big group (10 individuals, mostly couples) descending on the area for a wedding on Sept. 2. For a budget: just as long as we save money compared to staying at a hotel and by cooking for ourselves in the cottage/farmhouse, we are open to accomodations in all price ranges.

Many Thanks!

You could try Mapledurham Cottages which are just outside Reading. They look lovely!

Will you have a car? I'm thinking you may need to stay a bit further out of your chosen area, possibly into Wiltshire, to find somewhere big enough or with two cottages close enough together. The Newbury/Hungerford area is not really holiday territory, so does not have a big choice of holiday cottages, but having said that, it is a very nice area.
