Bergen to the Lofoten islands

We have a booking for 4 nights in the Lofoten islands, followed by a couple of days in Stockholm. We are spending 8 days traveling from Oslo to Bergen before that. We are considering one of the following 2 options to get from Bergen to the Lofoten Islands. We needed feedback in terms of which might work out better - 1. Fly from Bergen to Bodo. Rent a car in Bodo. Take the ferry (with the car on it) from Bodo to Moskenes and then drive to our apartment in the Lofoten islans. And on the way out, reverse our journey to Bodo, and then fly to Stockholm.

or 2. Fly from Bergen to Leknes and to rent a car in Leknes.Drive from Leknes to our apartment in the Lofoten islands. And on the way back, fly from Leknes to Stockholm.

Any feedback on which route would work better, will be much appreciated. Thank you!

I would take a flight via Bodø to Leknes or if your travel day happens to be on a day with direct flights n Norwegian Air Bergen to Harstad/Narvik Evenes airport, I would go for that. The ferry Bodø-Moskenes is expensive with a car and mostly a waste of time.

Definitely option 2. It gives you more time on Lofoten itself. Only reason for 1 if you are a ferry fan / spotter.

The ferry from Bodø to Moskenes is 100 km in rather open sea, what you will see is Landegode slowly dissappearing behind you and the Lofoten wall ever so slowly rising out of the sea.
