We will be arriving Wien Meidling around 22:30 on a Wed. Will cabs be readily available to take us to the HGI Vienna South or should I try to book one in advance? Thx
There is a taxi rank.
There will be taxis available at the taxi rank as mentioned above. You could also take the bus, but at that time of the day going by taxi is certainly best.
You cannot book a local taxi in advance from the train station. You simply walk to the taxi rank. If you have a phone, you could also call for one at 40100 or take an Uber.
You are sure about „Meidling“? – And yes, there is a taxi rank/stand.
Most international travelers arrive at “Hauptbahnhof” – and many new hotels are located there.
So, if you have outdated travel-information it could well be that you are taking a cab for nothing.
Give us some background with your question – we don’t discuss whether black is black or white is white . . . this forum has more to offer!!
But in a different post they talked about driving so it is a little confusing.
It is actually wise to deboard at Wien-Meidling Station, because this station is the closest one to the hotel mentioned.
Sightseeing-wise it is not a good location, but that's not the point here.
We are taking the train to Budapest for the day. Will be dropping the car at Hauptbahnhof before departure but coming back to Meilding seems to make more sense as others have mentioned. Thanks for the info all!
