Is there an underground walk way between the train station and Hauptbahnhof U1? I thought I had read/saw somewhere there was.
Yes, it is.
Yes, no need to go outside at all. And it’s very clearly signposted.
Sorry one last question (maybe)
I wanted to make sure I am reading this correctly on Wiener Linien´s site it says a 72hr pass is 17.20EUR which is the same cost I see for a weekly pass. Is this correct or am I reading this site wrong?
Or should we purchase the Easy Citypass for 29.90 since it also has discounts to Museums etc?
We are in Vienna for 5 nights so I planned to purchase a pass right when we arrive at the train station.
Yeah, the 72 hrs. pass costs (moreless) as much as the weekly pass. The reason for that - at least in my opinion - is that weekly passes are mainly purchased by locals, who are entitled to vote every four years, whereas 72 hrs. passes are primarily bought by visitors.Edited: 12 May 2018, 09:04
The weekly pass runs strictly Monday morning to the following Monday morning so it depends what day you arrive. No pass includes the overpriced Ringtram, but with a pass you can do the Ring circuit using trams 1 & 2. Check the Easy City Pass discounts; they are very small.
Thank you, we arrive on a Wednesday 11AM and depart Monday morning for 5 nights. Arrival and departure via the main train station.
I guess we'd need to purchase 72hr and another 48hr pass since we are not arriving on a Monday correct?
Are plans are not really finalized but here are some of the places that have our interest:
St Peters Catholic Church
St Anna’s Church
Maria Theresien Platz
Wiem Roman museum
Saturday Flea Market at Naschmarkt
St Stephens Catherdral
No, get the weekly pass. Good for Wednesday to Sunday inclusive. Depending what you are doing Monday either get single tickets or a day ticket.
