How long does the invasion last on the east coast. Is it safe to go in the sea yet?

Hello Marc. I live in Malta and jelly fish are a problem at this time of year and throughout summer, depending on the direction of the wind. The jellyfish found in Maltese waters are non-lethal (but still have a nasty sting!) If you do decide to swim, be on the lookout for them. You might notice that some beaches actually have a purple flag raised up to indicate that there are "Pests" in the water. Not all beaches have this though.

It's all very unpredictable so best to keep an eye out for local alerts. Invariably there is somewhere to swim.
