Long stay Insurance

My husband and I are both seniors and have booked an apartment for a ten week winter stay. However, our travel insurance company will only cover us for forty-five days maximum. I have also been to a local broker, but they were unable to help. Would I be able to get cover in Malta? Thank you in advance.

Try using a comparison website like comparethemarket, they should give you options. If you have medical conditions Travelinsurance4medical.co.uk are very competitive

I actually live in Ireland and have tried the comparison site but it does not give the length of time. Per individual trip.

I only know one insurer that sells in Ireland and they do long stay insurance.

Make sure you have your EHIC cards and they are up to date;

The Liaison Travel Medical Plan would be an excellent option, especially if you are in a rental property as it includes personal liability to cover damage to someone else's property. The plans can be purchased for up to one year and extended for up to a total of 3 years. It also offers good coverage for seniors. A couple of great plans, including Liaison, are detailed and compared here: https:/…seniors.php
