visiting oulu in March

Hi hoping to visit late March. Just wondered if

1. the northern light still visible (weather permitting)

2. whether 4 or 5 days is long enough to spend in Oulu, or if you need a week to see it all properly. 3. Any dog sledding close by,

4. is car hire good idea or public transport ok?

Cheers

Oulu? A peculiar choice. You are interested in Lappish activities, but Oulu is several hundreds of kilometres from Lapland's resorts. If you already have booked your flights, rent a car and drive up to Lapland.

1. Northern lights are possible but seen not so often.

3. There is a husky safari Company near Oulu, 18 km from the city http://www.huskysafarit.fi/web/gb/

There is a small slalom slope in Oulu http://english.ruskotunturi.fi/

Indeed as mentioned above you are 350 km away from Lapland's activities (Ylläs). If you drive to Lapland you can Visit Kemi Snow Castle which is very famous http://www.visitkemi.fi/en/snowcastle

You find bigger slalom slopes in Aavasaksa https://aavasaksa.fi/?lang=en, 200 km from Oulu or Pello Valkea Arctic Experience (Ritavalkea) http://valkea.net/, 250 km from Oulu.

And Rovaniemi, "Capital" of Lapland with several attractions and top activities is 205 km from Oulu.
