You can get good and inexpensive food at the indoor food markets. There is the large one close to Kungsportsplatsen as well as a smaller one on 3:e Långgatan. I like Kåges and Alexadras soppkök.

There is also Aldardos for pasta close to Saluhallen.

You can get lunch (including water and bread) for 35-95 really, depending on whre you go

Alexandras 35-65 SEK, the daily special at Aldardos 60 or 70 depending on size (grande or media), Kåges 50-60 SEK (three different lunch options everyday as well as some regular dishes) - there is a sit down place and a take away place.

Sushi, 1O pieces with soup and tea 65 SEK

Will you have a fridge in your room? We saved a good deal of money on our recent trip by eating breakfast every day in our room, making sandwiches for dinner (lunch out is cheaper) and going to the supermarket for drinks and snacks to carry with us during the day. I also agree with the indoor food market suggestion, food at Kages was very good. We only have one kid, but it worked out OK.

Kafe Japan closed years ago. I usually have sushi at Asienköket or Slimfood, both are near Brunnsparken/Nordstan. Kokhi on Kyrkogatan is also good. There are loads of places around Brunnsparken that caters to the office crowd. Most are really tine, busy around lunchtime and close around 7pm.

Sushi Wong is good if you're in the area, it's pretty close to Korsvägen/Universeum.

Have a look at Sushikartan, http://www.sushikartan.se/ It's in Swedish only and rates sushiplaces all over Sweden. Just type in Göteborg and you can locate different places - useful even if you can't read the whole reviews.
