Hi there, well, apart from the lovely beaches, there is Malia Minoan Palace which is well worth an afternoon visit, in Hersonnisos there is an aquarium and reptile centre and of course the waterpark nearby. there will be lots of excursions in the travel shops dotted around the resort but one not to be missed is a visit to Spinalonga Island, which some of the boat trips include a beach barbecue and swimming.
Knossos and the archaeological museum in Heraklion, if you are into the history of Crete and a visit to the Lasithi plateau with the most spectacular scenery makes for a great day out. A few for starters anyway xxx KarenEdited: 24 July 2018, 05:36
Some very good ideas above. In addition, Star Beach would seem to be an idea for a day out, and about 5-10 minutes on the bus. They have foam parties most afternoons ad all sorts of other activities:
Also, note that as well as Aquaworld in Hersonissos (aquarium and reptile centre) there is a big Aquarium at Gournes, on the way to Heraklion:
ooh steve, I've just looked at the foam parties, they sound rather saucy ha ha ha xxxx
I think I'm about 45 years too old for them Karen...
