X96 late at night to Piraeus or cab?

Hello! We arrive late in Athens International Airport on a weekday (around 9 PM), and we were thinking of taking the X96 to go to Anemoni Hotel in Piraeus.

Is it safe walking by foot from the bus stop (Dimetiko I believe) by the time we arrive there (perhaps past 10 PM) or would it be safer to go all the way to Port of Piraeus and taking a cab to the hotel instead?

Thank you so much in advance!

I would say it is safe but not the most pleasant. Remember it will be dark, you carry luggage, and maybe you dont know the exact directions to walk. Personally I always take a taxi from the airport on late arrivals. Bus from the airport in addition to a local taxi may be nearly as expensive as a direct taxi.

The walk from Dimotiko Theatro bus stop towards Anemoni will be mostly along one of the most central streets of Piraeus, Iroon Polytehniou -where the main police department is located too-, if you arrive about 10-11pm the area will be busy, in Greece this is not too late a time to walk on the streets! Ask people in which direction to walk to go towards Notos Gallery, Jumbo and Sklavenitis in order to get oriented and keep on the right hand side pavement. Anemoni is located on Evripidou, a small street parallel to Iroon Politechniou, when you see Karaoli kai Dimitriou street on your right hand, take this and then a left and you will find it. Whithout luggage in tow it is a 5-7 minutes walk, it will be a 15 minutes walk trying to get oriented and having your luggages with you. But around Dimotiko Theatro there are always many taxis, you could simply use one of those if you do not feel like walking. With luggages and the new VAT and everything I think it will be around 5 euros taxi ride or so. Taxis are parked on the opposite direction so they will have to drive the wrong direction a bit and then backtrack due to streets been one way etc.
