Many small, big and huge supermarkets.

Do you seek something in a specific area? Athens is a pretty sprawling metropolis.

Some of the main chain supermarkets are:

AB: http://www.ab.gr/en/index.php

Carrefour: http://www.carrefour.gr/

These two chains have, i guess, around 200 - 300 stores in Athens metropolitan area. Perhaps more.

Sklavenitis would be the equivalent to Tesco (but with fewer stores). AB is more like Waitrose. Carrefour is more like Asda.

I would say Sklavenitis can be found only in Athens, a greek ownership brand chain and in my opinion the one really worths regarding prices - pleasant super markets.

AB (managed by the Belgian DELHAIZE) has the greatest selection of greek products, definetely a visit to one of AB worths for the endless and quality collection of greek olive oil, vinegars, cheeses, wines, ouzo brands etc.

AB is the super market of "gourmet" lover consumers.

Carrefour if a french brand and has the biggest part of the market in Greece.
