I've just been searching www.ownersdirect.co.uk for hours!

There are lots to choose from, but it would be good to have some recommendations.

The Casa Mitchell apartments are well positioned for access to the Old Town and access to the beach via the lift. Apartments have well equipt kitchens and are very clean. A hidden gem. Check out the reviews.

Just another one to ponder over.

Have a look at Forte do Vale apartments. They are situated between the Strip and the Old Town. Maybe 5-10 mins walk along to the Strip and 15 downhill to the Old Town. These are lovely spacious modern apartments. Theres a few nice bars/restaurants right on the doorstep. Also theres a Spar nearby (minutes away) and the larger Modelo and Pingo Doce supermarkets are within walking distance. There is a beach within about a ten minute walk.

We have stayed there a few times and are booked to go back. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend them. Just to give you a rough idea a taxi back from the Strip to FDV will cost about 4 euros and roughly the same from The Old Town.

Monarch Hotels usually do good deals to FDV - dont book direct as it is far more expensive.

Read the reviews on Trip Advisor - most are very complimentary about this property.

Hope this helps a little but you will probably get more recommendations too from others on the forum.

Páteo Village apartments are about 10-12 minutes walk from the old town, downhill all the way but uphill all the way back. There is a bus up the hill every half hour until 2315 in summer. Local bars and a little shop are close by if you don't feel the need to go into town.

Enocsta da Orada is also at the top of the hill, just a short walk away; close to Windmill Hill and Albufeira Jardim and much more upmarket than the latter, so it depends on what you are looking for. You can use the Trip Advisor search box to find more information on it.
