We are planning a holiday in Lisbon Portugal later in the year. Can anyone advise on best way to travel around

1. The City, we are looking to stay at the Corithia hotel apparently near the Zoo

2. We also would like to travel for day trips to Porto and to the Algarve areas, what trains would we need and what tickets ie Interrail passes or the Portual rail tickets. (are there concessions for seniors) Also what stations do we get to for the fast trains.

Would appreciate all the help we can get

Lisbon has excellent public transportation. There are several metro stops within a few blocks of your hotel. There are no senior discounts for non-residents, but the metro and commuter trains are not expensive.

Both Porto and the Algarve are too far away for day trips.

I suggest reading a travel guide for Lisbon, and then asking specific questions.

The web site listed in reply #2 includes a link to rail services in Portugal - a site, in English, which will tell you exactly when trains go, whence, when they arrive, and how much they cost.

Not to mention that a search, here on the forum (there's a search box, you know), will provide any number of answers to this question, which has been asked over and over again.
