New Years Eve in Bruges - during the day

We went to Bruges for a few hours on Saturday afternoon, and loved it! Looking to go back and explore a bit more, and thinking of going for a day trip on New Years Eve. Are shops, restaurants and the Christmas market open as normal on this day?

Normally yes, but as it's a Monday it wouldn't surprise me if some shops are "bridging" as they would be closed on Sunday and then on Tuesday (only 1 Jan being a public holiday). Most museums are closed on Monday anyway.

The Christmas market and activities on Simon Stevinplein and Walplein should be open from 11:00 till 19:00 hrs although some stalls may close a bit early on 31/12.

The snow and ice-sculpture festival will also be open, from 10:00 till 19:00 hrs: icesculpture.be/…
