Amsterdam in November

Me and my boyfriend are travelling from UK to Amsterdam on the last weekend in November this year. Are the Christmas lights/decorations up or do we miss them by a week? We've booked a canal cruise but is there anything Christmassy to do at all in November and also any restaurants you would recommend? We're hoping for a magical trip. Thank you in advance.

The tree does not go up in Dam Sq until after Sinterklass which is on the 5th December. According to the above site it will be on the 8th this year. Otherwise Christmas, thankfully does not extend much out of December in NL.

As for restaurants you might have to specify a bit more detail like cuisine, budget and location.
