Amsterdam Stay Website

Has anyone had experience with this site? We just booked a four night stay for two weeks from now and within 24 hours had to cancel and they are demanding a 50% cancellation penalty.

I have no idea which company you mean but I can only assume that any cancellation fee will always be in accordance with the terms and conditions that you agreed with when you booked. Maybe you can check this yourself.?

No. I don't have experience with that website. But in all probability if you booked a flat for two weeks from now you booked within a time frame that specifies forfeiting 50% if canceling that close to your date of arrival.

"...for two weeks from now."

This is where the trouble comes in no doubt. Those kind of policies are not unusual and almost always based on how close you cancel to your date of arrival.

If it were a scam all you would have seen would have been nothing but all your money gone. All of it. And we have seen a LOT of those.

It is really pointless to ask this kind of question if you don't include a link to the actual website you are referring to. Scammers will very often use web site names and URL's that closely resemble those of legitimate sites.

Their policy is pretty or somewhat clearly spelled out. But you do have to look for it.

The key here for the OP is the less than 14 days language.

But right after their listed cancelation policies is a suggestion you take out travel ins just in case. They even provide a link.
