Accademia Gallery showing sold out- Other Options??

Hi,

We are taking our first international trip next week to Italy! (YAY!)

I was trying to book the Accademia Gallery today from the official website, www.firenzemusei.it, only to find the Accademia Gallery is already booked for ALL time slots on our Florence date, May 22nd & 23rd! I am a little panicky as the Accademia was one of our "must see" stops in Florence.

Are there any other reliable booking sites for the Accademia? I found a website, www.tickitaly.com that is showing a 3:30pm time slot available on May 22nd. Are these tickets reliable if I book through this site?

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

How much are they charging for tickets?

This is the official site b-ticket.com/b-ticket/uffizi/default_eng.aspx

Yes, that is the website I used. It is kind of confusing because on May 22nd it shows a green box for available but when you click on it, all time slots are red box sold out.

The tickitaly.com is selling tickets for 18e. I don't mind paying a little more if it means we actually get to go. I am just wanting to make sure these are legit tickets.

Yes, I checked on the official site and there were no tickets left. your website is legit. and if you are happy to pay more, then you might as well go for it. The only other alternative is to go half an hour before opening time (say, 07.45) and take your chance with the queue.

If I'm in time, and MAYBE it will help- we went last October and got there 15 minutes before opening time on a Wednesday. We were in 10 minutes after opening.

If you don't get tickets, perhaps this helps?

Try calling; sometimes there is availability to book when you call that doesn't show on line. This worked for us years ago for the Uffizi. You can also just line up the day of, but I would probably buy the Firenze Card. It is an overpriced product but so wiill scalped tickets be, so at least this will let you easily access the Uffizi and Academia without advanced tickets.

We were there in that golden moment in history when the Friends f the Uffizi membership let you walk into most other museums. We were let into the Academia with no wait although there were long lines of those with reservations and those without tryiing to get in. Alas that card no longer works this way, but the Firenze Card might.
