Best place to stay

Hi. Please assist two students (a a couple) with a few nights to stay in Florence, in their early twenties, with a limited budget, wanting to stay in a place with charm, aircon, close to the action. Where would you recommend they stay? Many thanks for your assistance

Have a look at www.booking.com, then put in your travel dates and amenities. Use their map function and locate a facility which meets your requirements.

Have you read the TA reviews? When are you going?

By asking this question you will get the opinion of one person which could even be the hotel owner. Check the TA reviews where you will get the opinion of many people one every hotel

If you want decent advice, you need to give a good idea of your budget per night (in euros). When you search, try Sant' Ambrogio, Santa Croce, San Niccolo, San Frediano. These areas will be cheaper than the immediate centre and as the whole of the city is pretty small, you can walk just about anywhere.

Central Florence is small so, as far as convenience is concerned, it doesn't matter too much where they stay. They should be able to walk to whatever "action" they chose.

If you use a filter for for price, then come back with addresses, people might be able to be more helpful, at least with the area, if not the accommodation itself unless they, themselves, personally know it.

The trouble with giving your budget/price, is that the price of each hotel varies so much, based on time of year, and how full the hotel is. Closer to the date of arrival, hotel rates often drop; that’s what happened to us in Florence.

KathrinSouthAfrica - have you checked hostels? I know students who have stayed in some really nice ones, with lots of activities/tours etc. in Florence.
