Also shop Siracusa's wonderful outdoor market - The market is located near the parking area of Talete and it opens from around 7.00-13.45 every day but Sunday. It’s all over by 14.00.

Siracusa’s market is local and colourful, and you would find fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, fish, cheeses....

Nice and small villages close to Taormina and Siracusa

Prego mrsmunch75,

Italian supermarkets don’t post in English just as Waitrose doesn’t post in Italian, but perhaps this would assist - http://goo.gl/H7AuV

Click on the colourful “Buona Pasqua” in the centre of the screen for products and prices.

Thank you,it all sounds good, the flights are ok price and accommodation seems relatively inexpensive,we are on a budget so thats why I'm asking questions about prices,I dont want to spend more than 70 euros per day on food and drink!

Prego mrsmunch75 – Understandably if you are on a budget....

Sicily is a good value destination - If you plan self-catering, you would do well with the fresh fish, fruits, and vegetables, and you should be able to stay within your food budget.

Siracusa has many lovely reasonably priced osterie and trattorie - Sicilia in Tavola, Osteria La Gazza Ladra

Spaghetteria Do Scogghiu....

And request “il vino della casa”....

Enjoy!
