Question about Fireworks show on Jun. 23rd

Hello,

We are arriving in Como in the early afternoon of the 23rd of Jun. and staying for 2 days, then heading to Lenno for 5 more days. We would like to see the fireworks (which by lucky coincidence is happening the same day we arrive). Is it possible to rent a small boat (with a captain or driven by my husband who has a boat license) from the Como waterfront and go out close to the island where the fireworks are occurring? I would assume this boat would have to be reserved ahead of time? Or is it wiser to take a taxi to a restaurant which has a good view?

Thank you,

JMOT

When we have been there before, the government group that operates the ferries has had special boat runs that go up to the fireworks show. These very well might be sold out by the time you get there. I would imagine that from Com o they would use the Orione which holds like 400 people.
