1st or 2nd class

On the Intercity Thello train is there much of a difference in travelling 1st class compared to 2nd class?

No - perhaps a little more luggage space in 1st, but we travelled in 2nd class and found the seats and seating space to be adequate for the 4 of us - we were able to book 4 seats facing each other and it was a very comfortable journey from Turin to La Spezia.

Oops - just realised that Thello trains are a different brand than the Trenitalia Intercity we travelled on, so probably not a useful response by me - sorry.

First 2+1, second 2+2. See https:/…thello-trains-from-nice-to-milan.htm for pictures.
