Christmas Eve/Christmas Day - Restaurants Open?!

We are going to Rome from 24th-29th December for Christmas!

Does anyone know of any restaurants that are open on Christmas Eve & Christmas Day for dinner?!

Slightly worried everything might be closed!

1. Re: Christmas Eve/Christmas Day - Restaurants Open?!

As I remember, we had a great meal one year at Sabatini, in Trastevere..

Fairly sure that was Christmas Day, with the restaurant then closed the next - as someone in the family had Santo Stefano (our Boxing Day) as their saint's day!

It's the 'the waiter has to carry the food across the street' place shown about 4 minutes into this old Pathe newsreel story....

Not quite so secret nowadays!

Last year there were lots of restaurants open. In early autumn, a list was published by a restaurant association, but others reported on TA that there were many others open as well,

On Christmas Eve, many restaurants serve elaborate fixed menu meals, but there are also some that let you order a la carte.

We were in Rome last year during the same time, lucky you!

We found most places to be open and lively on Christmas Day as we walked from Borgo Pio to Piazza Navona.
