Amalfi, Sorrento or Positano?

Visiting the Amalfi Coast for the first time for 5 nights at the end of July and have been advised to stay at Sorrento, Amalfi or Positano. What is the difference between the three places at this time of year? We will be coming from Rome, what is the best way to get there from Rome?

All these resorts are very busy in the Summer months, Sorrento is by far the biggest, and much more convenient, fot discovering the area, with good transport links, as it has a Train Station, and a good Bus and boat service, from REome I would feel Rail is best,

We're looking at going to the same area around June time. Does anyone know how hot it will be? I hear Rome is unbearably hot in June, will this be the case in Sorrento?

Do you know how busy Sorrento is in June. Due to a Neil Diamond concert (!) we're having to go the last two weeks in June. Is it heaving busy at this time, or only when you head into July and August??
