I'm planning a trip to Pisa in the middle of august and I have a couple of questions. First, what is the best way in terms of time and money to get to the beaches nearest to Pisa for a day trip, I mean getting there in the early noon maybe or a bit earlier and getting back to Pisa before the evening? What transport goes there directly and how much it costs? I've read about nearby cities' beaches and I'm sure they are all great but I doubt we'll have enough time to enjoy them.
Second, are there beach taxes if you bring your own towel and if yes, how much does it cost per person per day? Which beaches would you recommend?
And last, but not the least, are there good places to eat close to the beaches or is it a better idea to bring our own food and drinks to the beach?
Thank you very much :)
