Day trip to Pisa or Siena?

My wife and I are travelling to Italy in September and will arrive in Florence on Friday morning and leaving Monday evening. We plan on using 1 day for a day trip to either Pisa or Siena. I would appreciate thoughts and recommendations?

I would use my day trip for Siena. Siena is much more engaging with incredible architecture and arts.

Reason for buses vs trains is the they go to the center of town.

Siena is an incredible medieval city...why don’t you go online at look at some images of Siena and Pisa..and grab your guidebook so you can be more informed. Have a good tourist map. Siena is a 1.5 hr bus or train ride from Florence. I prefer the bus as it lets you off inside the city walls.

You have 2 1/2 days in Florence and want to use one of them to leave? Have you spent time in Florence before as otherwise it seems a bit of a rushed trip. If you have already "done" Florence then why not train to Siena and spend your time there? We adore Siena but as with Venice, a day trip does not show it in its best light as you can be shoulder to shoulder with tour groups.
