Porec to Venice by car - Parking

I am looking to travel by road from Porec to Venice for a day trip and was wondering if anybody had any recommendations of where to park? (I am aware there is a ferry but it leaves you with about 4-5 hours to look around Venice!).

I was hoping for somewhere slight east of Venice that has either a water taxi or shuttle service into the city center.

Thanks in advance for your help.

There is very expensive parking at Piazzale Roma, at the end of the road into Venice; expensive parking at Tronchetto, to the right at the end of the bridge from the mainland; and reasonably priced parking near the train station at Mestre on the mainland.

From Piazzale Roma or Tronchetto, you can catch a vaporetto (water bus) to other parts of Venice. From Mestre, you would need to first take a train.
