All of central Paris is safe: this is not an issue. There are bakeries and little supermarkets throughout central Paris, so this is not an issue either. You are about 200 yards from either Cadet or Poissonniere metro stations, so no problem with transport.

If you're expecting views of "picture postcard" Paris from your apartment window, then you will be disappointed. If you're expecting a thriving residential area with local shops, bars, cafes etc then you will be delighted.

As Nick points out you have metro stations within a couple of minutes, and there are plenty of buses which offer a good alternative.

Never stayed in an apartment, but have stayed in hotels in the area and loved it.
