It hasn’t been confirmed yet, but there’s a likelihood of a strike this Thursday (no more information is available at the moment)

Paris is such a walkable city! Many of us cover 5-10-15-20 miles per day, as the city is so, so beautiful with so, so much to see. Travelling abroad (for me) means walking the city. So for me, the "Pending train strike Thursday 22th" is a gift to Paris travelers. Locals, on the other hand, may have quite a different view, as they have to get to work.
the article says March 22 there will be a protest by the workers. I don't find any mention of this Thursday.
Ugh ! I canceled my Feb 22 plans before realizing this is in March. Grrrr On the bright side, flying is 100€ cheaper than the train. Merci cheminots !
Globe2 — this is a heads up for long distance travels. Not walkin’ to Biarritz !
So, if this pending train strike happens I suppose that means no Versailles train that day? What are our other options for transportation? I really don’t want to do a tour bus where my time in limited.
Melissa, the strike is one month from now and should affect mostly long distance trains and not local transportation. You will most likely be able to go by public transportation as there are 4 different ways of going there from Paris.
That’s good to know. Thanks for replying!
Thanks for posting. I’ll be following this, as we’ve booked train tix to Ghent for the last day of March. Updates as they become available will be much appreciated.
The SNCF website is actually showing a strike for tomorrow..
