Any way to get to Piana without driving?

Is there a way to get to Piana without driving? That is, not by bus but rather by boat hire or similar? I can't seem to find anything like that. Prefer not to hire a car and drive what sounds like a dodgy at best road, especially in high season, but we'd like to spend a day or so on the area.

Thanks.

Hi,

From Calvi you can take day trips by boat either to Girolata with a 30 min. stop at shore (north of Piana) or all the way down to Ajaccio (which will take you past Piana too). See time tables and prices here: colombo-line.com/sorties-en-mer-a-calvi-en-b…

There may be more alternatives to choose between with departure from Ajaccio. Here is just one example: http://www.naveva.com/tarifs-6-fr.html

Kind regards

Hi Akula 01

Piana sits on top of the sea cliffs at an altitude of around 1200ft, so it's not possible to simply sail into harbour.

Boat trips to view Scandola and the Calanches de Piana, calling in to Girolata, sail from Ajaccio, Cargese and Porto. From Calvi, boats sail for Scandola and also call at Girolata. These are the best ways to view the area's fabulous coastline.

If you really do need to get your feet on the ground, the only other way is indeed by bus or car, unless you take to the long distance trails through the area.

Trine's links are a good start, and for public transport on the island, check out
