I will be arriving Glasgow by train and staying at the DoubleTree by Hilton on Cambridge Sreet. Which train station is closest/most convenient to the hotel?

Thank you

The two main train stations in Glasgow are Glasgow Central and Queen Street stations. Both are equidistant to your destination on Cambridge Street.

Where is your train from? Different trains use different stations

Yes it depends where you are coming from?

For instance a direct train from Aberdeen or Inverness would terminate at Glasgow Queen St and not at Central.

Likewise a direct train from Ayr would terminate at Central and never Queen St!

Hi the map says it's 11 min walk from queen street and 14 mins from Central. Queen street looks like an easier walk. Less uphill. Glasgow not as bad as Edinburgh for hills but if dragging suitcases. Queen street kinder.

Yes Citymom, but what if they are arriving off a Train from London Euston, it’s Central then.

Depending on their start point they may have no choice of which Station they go to.

Love maps that say 11min or 14min walk.

Some people will cover a mile in 14 minutes others won’t get anywhere near that.

As almost everyone has pointed out origin of your journey can have a bearing on the answer.

Well in their other post they mention arriving at MAN and asking about the train station so by my Sherlock Holmes standards of deduction I put it to you that they will arrive at Central Station - no choice in the matter.

After a long flight and then a train ride I would be letting a cab take the strain.

Yep definitely Central.

£5 in a Taxi UP (note the Up, its almost all uphill) to the Hilton DD!
