How do i get myself from Camera Obscura to Arthur's seat? Where is the easiest opening to climb the hill?

Any other useful info will be appreciated!

Thanks!

Walk down the royal mile towards the palace of holyrood and cross over the road past the car park to your left. You can access arthurs seat by walking up the radical road which is quite a tough climb.

You can walk straight down the Royal Mile to Holyrood Palace and into Holyrood Park You can then either walk up passed Salisbury Crags to Arthurs Seat or take the dry Dam road into the middle of the Park and then take the pathway leading to the top of Arthurs Seat.

However the easiest way to climb to the top is the longest which is when you enter the Park, passing the Palace, to follow the Queens Drive (left) and walk to the far end of St Margarets Loch, then follow the Queens Drive up to Dunsappie Loch. It is a straight uphill walk from there to the top of Arthurs Seat.

Alternatively the most direct route would be to walk down to the North Bridge, turn right and walk south on the main road until you reach East Preston Street and walk along there to Dalkeith Road and then enter Holyrood Park via Holyrood Park Road. You can then climb straight up the steep pathway to the top of Arthurs Seat.

Yes. Slightly more than a mile as you will basically be walking from one end of the Royal Mile to the other plus a little more. So about 20 minutes or so and its is downhill all the way....until you start to climb Arthurs Seat of course: - )
