6 days trip to Ireland

I would like to know what do you suggest or recommend to do in 6 days in Northern Ireland? I would like to go to Belfast and experience the Games of Thrones tour... Any ideas? Thanks!

Hi Vanessa

Will you have a rental car during your trip? The suggestions may change depending on your access to transport.

Generally speaking I would suggest spending a couple of nights in Belfast and doing a Game of Thrones tour from there. The other days could be spent venturing further out to (for example)

- Antrim coast road (Giants Causeway, The Gobbins cliff path, Carrick-a-rede ropebridge, Bushmills distillery, Rathlin island, Glenariff forest park)

- Fermanagh (Lower and Upper Lough Erne, Enniskillen Castle, Florence Court, Marble Arch caves and geopark, Cuilcagh mountain)

- Strangford Lough & Mourne Mountains (Mount Stewart, Portaferry, Downpatrick, Newcastle, Castle Ward)

The GoT tour will take in some of the places so you may not feel the need to revisit so you could extend your trip to Derry, Co. Donegal, Co Mayo. I am not sure if you are already taking in other sights outside of the 6 days in Northern Ireland.

In Belfast you could visit the Titanic Quarter and check out the museums there. You will find maritime attractions in that area to suit different interests so even if you are not into the Titanic history there is plenty to see. Crumlin Road Gaol, Botanic Gardens, Ulster museum, City Hall and Cave Hill are all interesting attractions to also consider.

I enjoy County Fermanagh in Northern Ireland. I will throw into the mix Lough Navar Forest and the Cliffs of Magho https://www.discovernorthernireland.com/Loug… It was so hard going but worth it. Ironically ended up at the top of these when we done the Lough Navar Forest drive.

Enjoyed Drummoney Falls too and Castle Caldwell. (http://www.castles.nl/castle-caldwell).

Shopped in Enniskillen.

Off top of my head

In Fermanagh, we have stayed in the Killyhelvin and found it good.

We've also stayed at the Silverbirch in Omagh and can recommend it too.

Fermanagh and the lakes are a great call for a few days. Hire a boat for the day and take in the lakes as they should be seen. Derry/Londonderry is an excellent place to visit with a walk around the historic walls and a stroll over the Peace Bridge. With Donegal being a few minutes down the road you have the best coastal scenery at your fingertips.

I recently re-explored County Fermanagh & the Lakes this past April & stayed at The Arch House Farm House, near Enniskillen, excellent accommodation.
