flying to Worcester from Amsterdam

We are a family of 5 who plan to go to a wedding in Worcester, we live in Amsterdam and wondered what is the best and cheapest route to get there for a weekend. (flying into Birmingham?) If anyone has any advice it would be appreciated.

Certainly Birmingham is the nearest airport To Worcester. It's about 45 minutes away by road.

Birmingham Airport is the closest large airport to Worcester and is about 45 mins drive from Worcester, all Motorway so easy driving.

It is possible to take the train from Birmingham International Rail Station to Birmingham New Street and then a regular train service to Worcester. - there is a free monorail which links the Airport to the Rail Station.

Birmingham is certainly the nearest airport. Birmingham International station is linked to the airport and it would take about 1h15 - 1h45 to reach Worcester (you would need to change at Birmingham New Street).

London Heathrow is also a possibility, you can get the RailAir coach to Reading and a direct train to Worcester. Worth considering if the air fares are considerably cheaper.

Note there are two railway stations in Worcester, Shrub Hill and Foregate Street. Shrub Hill is slightly outside the town centre but may be easier for getting taxis or if someone is coming to pick you up.

Actually, Birmingham Airport's own web site describes it as a mono-rail.
