Windsor Castle from Waterloo Station

Hello, how would you buy your tickets online and go from Waterloo to the Castle?

Do I need a printed version of the tickets?

I mean to go July 30th (Monday) and will be at the Premier Inn London @Waterloo but I am currently abroad and will arrive in the UK on July the 24th

There are trains from Waterloo to Windor and Eton Riverside at .22 and .52 minutes every hour. The train takes about an hour. No need to book in advance. The station is about 10 minutes from the Castle (you really can't miss it)

How about the queue for a ticket at the Castle at the end of July?

Well, the probability has to be that it will be longer than the queue was last July.

No, it doesn't seem that you can any longer purchase at Waterloo a combined ticket for the rail journey and for entry to the Castle. Neither is there anywhere at Waterloo selling stand-alone tickets for the Castle. You can buy tickets for the Castle from the royalcollection.org.uk website and either print them in advance or pick them up from the Admission Centre. Either way, you still have to go through security and may have to queue for that. The advice is that the admission centre is busiest before 11.30am. The bus tours tend to arrive early and then move on to Stonehenge/Bath. So plan to arrive later if you can.

What post six said.

You can easily purchase your rail ticket to Windsor from Waterloo, and there is no advantage to booking it ahead of time.

The Windsor Castle website advises visitors to come later than the opening time of 9:30. The recommended time may be 11:30, but as the Changing of the Guards begins at 11:00, I would shoot for a 10:30 arrival so as to be in the lower ward to watch.it by 11.

Try not to visit on a Sunday, as the magnificent St. George's Chapel will be closed to tourists. There is also no Changing of the Guard on Sunday.

Here are other things to do in Windsor--the red box is there because travel articles can no longer be edited.

Can you explain please what about a military parade outside the Palace?

I've been watching youtube and the parede seems to be on the streets of Windsor, are there scheduled parades outside the Castle? Is the military marching to the Castle what I saw? How could I enjoy that parade outside of the Castle?

Thank you!

I am looking the schedule here https:/…changing-the-guard-calendar

For the Saturday July 28th (Saturday) There is a remark:

"Queen’s Guard Admin Mount at 0800hrs due to London Ride"

But it is not clear if the reference is for Windsor, can you understand what happens that day? Does the changing of the guard take place at 08:00hs in Windsor? What happens in London that's called the London Ride?

Thank you!!
