Stay in town or across the river?

I'm trying to pick between the Arden Hotel and the Avonlea Bed and Breakfast which is across the river. I won't have a car. The B&B is much cheaper but I'm not sure about location. I plan to take a day trip to Warwick Caslte and some Cotswold towns. Any advice?

Not much to choose between locations

The B & B is on a main road but only a short walk into town across the pedestrian Tramway Bridge to the bottom of Bridge street where the buses go to Warwick, Chipping Campden, Moreton in Marsh and lots more

Both are a bit of a walk from the Railway Station

see Google Maps for details and you can also have a look at Street View

I mentioned on a separate thread recently that we have no hesitation in recommending Avonlea Guestshouse when friends come down to see us and need somewhere to stay. We've been told that the breakfasts there are really good. As far as the location goes it's about a 5-7 minute walk to the centre of town and right near to the Bear pub. Another place we always recommend!
