ATM in London euros

We are in London and then going to Madrid. When we arrive in Madrid we need to pay for a trip in euros. We don’t think we will be able to get enough out in Madrid as we are in Madrid one day, then we need to pay in cash euro on departure. Can anyone recommend a atm in London that we can get euros.

Thanks in advance

You should be able to get it at the airport. They have ATMs that dispense them. But can you not pay the trip by card to avoid carrying too much cash?

There are a number of London Underground stations with € ATMs.

Or just get them in Australia before you head to Europe

You could also exchange any currency to euro eat any of a number of exchange shops around the city. Thomas Exchange Global for instance:

I have seen quite a few ATMs in London tube stations. that dispense Euros. According to this article they were introduced into 70 different tube stations (2014)

On my recent trips, I remember seeing them in the Piccadilly Circus Tube station and in front of the Putney Bridge tube Station.

I also saw one at King's Cross Railway station and would very surprised if they weren't at most of the London area airports.

Here is a recent thread from September of 2018 discussing the same. You will read many posters telling you why you shouldn't do this, best to ignore them.

This article discusses the ATM machines in the tube stations.

Surely you can just go to a money changer in Madrid and get Euros. Can't really understand why you would need to pay for a tour in cash in Madrid anyway. Don't they have some kind of online payment ar a card machine?

I have never used the ATM that give out Euros, but from the wording of the TFL article linked to, it looks like Raphaels Bank will convert from GBP to EUR "commission free and at rates [comparable] to the largest exchangers" and your credit or debit card will be charged in GBP. So you would then be charged another exchange rate by your bank or cc provider from your currency to GBP.

Basically, if you choose to do this for convenience over exchanging cash at home (with transparent rates) before you leave, don't be surprised if the conversion rate is bad.

I would bring Euros with you from your own bank.

Definitely do not go to any exchange bureau to change cash for Euros as you will be fleeced!
