Antique shops or markets, or both?

I am searching for any WWI or WWII memorabilia as is ads, papers, books, artifacts. Not copies or re-makes. Not looking for anything that should be left in the ground, or pilferaged, like I saw in France. Mostly interested in WWI, as my grandfather was in the war and my BF is a professor of history.

Is one market, such as Portobello a good choice? Or, should I search out antique shops?

This shop in Cecil Court (next to Covent Garden) specialises in military medals but does have some other ephemera

As the enormous bulk of transactions of this nature are done online now, I fear you’ll struggle to find specialist dealers in London with a physical shop. Good luck in your quest.

There is also a shop in Camden Passage dealing with militaria . Sorry, don’t know the name. I think it only opens the days they have the market.

I believe they have a stall at Portobello road but worth contacting them about which days they do and about their stock

Beauchamp

Yes, it is that one. For many years Chris Farlowe; the singer used to have a shop selling military articles not far from Camden Passage, but no longer there.

You might also like to look in here. If you see something and can't make the auction, leave a proxy.
