Give us a clue.

Budget? How many rooms? How do you define "best"?

Without that information I would suggest the Langham.

Central would be anywhere within the area bounded by the Circle (yellow) tube line - although Paddington isn't convenient for most of the attractions the typical tourist wishes to see. As for 'best', that depends on budget and other requirements. There are hundreds of hotels within the central area. If you want a decent budget chain, then Premier Inns have hotels a number of well-located hotels. For other options use Booking.com or similar - you can see location on the map and filter for any other requirements, including budget. If you are only booking for June now, your options may be limited.

River facing room at the Savoy, much nicer than Claridges.

You seem to have posted an email meant for your personal assistant to a forum. It's obvious that you have made a mistake, since if you had known you were posting to a forum, asking complete strangers to volunteer their time to help you out, you would have:

1. Read the sticky post at the top of the forum that tells you the info we need to help with hotel requests;

2. Asked politely, with some genuine attempt at interaction.

Mind you, if I were the PA for whom your demand was intended, I might still think it was a bit peremptory.

I’ll second a river suite at the Savoy, a very special experience, but it will cost you. If you want the same great location without having to take out a second mortgage try the Strand Palace across the street.
