The fixtures for the various levels of professional leagues only become available around 14 June. At this stage we simply don’t know what matches will be on those days.

Note that that Liverpool in particular, And the Premier League in general, can be exceedingly difficult to get tickets unless you are a season ticket holder or a member. There are other games in slightly lower leagues, although certainly of a decent standard, for which obtaining tickets will be much easier, but again we don’t know the fixture list for several weeks yet.

Ask again in late June.

Go and see Merseyside's other team - Tranmere Rovers

16th and 17th are a Sunday and Monday, so that will greatly reduce your chances of catching a game and almost certainly rules out the Tranmere option.

Teams in the Merseyside area include Liverpool, Everton, Tranmere and Southport. Look up these teams in a couple months when the fixtures are out and you can plan from there.

You'll be right at the back of the queue for a ticket to see Liverpool at Anfield; that's if they have a home game when you are in Liverpool.

Best thing to do is try and get on a stadium tour of Anfield and watch a game, if there is one, on the TV in a pub.

That date is for next season and the games aren’t announced yet. They’ll be announced on 14th June but at that stage, the games will nearly all be scheduled for Saturdays at 3pm, this is the default day and time.

However, the TV broadcasters move games that they’re going to broadcast and their schedule of TV games isn’t usually released until 4-6 weeks before the date of the games.

So while 14th June is when the match schedules are released, for middle of September, you’re probably going to have to wait until August before you know for definite if the game will be on Saturday at 3pm. If it’s moved for TV, it would generally move to Saturday 12:30pm, Saturday 5:30pm or Sunday (anything from 12pm to 4:30pm) or Monday night 8pm. Last season we had the first ever Friday night tv slot for Premier League games and this will continue for the coming season, so a Friday night game is also possible.

If you’re only here specifically on 16th & 17th September (which is a Sunday and Monday), your only hope is that Liverpool are scheduled to play at home that weekend and that the game is moved for tv coverage, to the Sunday. If it’s not chosen for tv coverage, it’ll remain on Saturday at 3pm.

If LFC are playing at home on those dates I would email LFC as soon as the fixtures are announced (subject to TV change of course) and when they see that you are coming from fields afar, they will look on you with knowing eyes...Eyes that you will spend money in the club shoppe, and you will not be at the back of the queue

It is extremely unlikely Liverpool will have a game on either dates mentioned by the O/P

As the first Champions League game for 2018/19 is scheduled for 18/19 Sept.2018

It’s perfectly feasible that Liverpool would play on 16th September in the Premier League and then on the 19th September in the Champions League.

It is possible that there will be a game that coincides with your visit, but I wouldn't have high hopes of being able to get a ticket.
