Thinking of going to Blackpool this weekend for a wander and to see the lights, Ive not been for at least 5 years

Can anyone advise on the best place to park , I don't mind walking or getting a tram and dont want to be stuck in traffic trying to get home before midnight

Are there any large car parks in Blackpool ?

Plenty huge car parks in Blackpool, but your problem may be the volume of traffic on the M55 out of the resort due to weekend traffic and end of half term. We went on a Tue recently which was great but our daughter and family went last Saturday and said they'd never seen it so busy.

If you park in the South Shore area, not too far off Yeadon Way that would probably give the easiest access to the M55 on the way home but I have known the whole m/way to be nose to tail on lights weekends. You could use the A583 as an alternative route.

Blackpool is extremely busy and will be both this and next weekend (the last weekend of the lights). Your best bet is to park in the central car park but as per the previous suggestion do not go down the M55 which will be solid up to the M6 but instead take the A583 all the way to Preston and join the M6 there. Do not be tempted to join at Kirkham as you will just join the queue which will go all the way to the M6.
