proper clothing for June 2013

Hello!

Would you please advise me on what would be the best clothes and shoes to bring for a 2 week stay this June- CLIL course? I had some ladies telling me boots would be fine ( http://www.dhgate.com/lady-polly-black-leather-boots-lady-fashion/p-ff8080813bdf47b6013c1fa04c340c31.html) to wear with a dress. Will I look strange to others by wearing boots in June? Should I bring ballerina shoes? (http://www.polyvore.com/ballerina_shoes/shop?query=ballerina+shoes)

What do people usually wear? I don't want to stand out, just be feminine.

What do you recommend ? What is the weather usually like in June?

Thank you!

Nicoleta

There is no such thing as usual weather. It could be a heatwave, it could be freezing cold. Often its both in the same day.

Weather forecast http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2649808 as you're best equipped to say if you'll feel warm in 18C (current temperature). Boots would be slightly unusual in June with a dress but this is Britain where people wear what they please. You'll probably want a jacket or cardigan as temperatures can and do change a lot. Also Exeter is said to have one dry day in 2.

Thank you so much to both of you.

I was thinking maybe this pair pretty-small-shoes.com/acatalog/Petite-Size-… with a dress while going out in the evening . Would that be fine?

I think you might be too warm in those, and not many people will be wearing boots with a dress in June.

It's up to you, but I think some pretty ballerina shoes might be better.

TBH no one else is going to care what you wear, we've seen it all before! So wear what you like and what you feel comfortable in, this goes for shoes especially as there is nothing worse than hew shoes on holiday, I wouldnt go out and buy anything extra, you could always shop when you get here. Boots would be too warm I think.

1/2 of England is suddenly very excited that we have been able to venture outdoors for more than a day or 2 without thermal underwear!

I think I would pack some black ballerina flats because they team nicely with opaque tights (readily available in most supermarkets, Boots and clothing stores) if it gets wet and windy again.
